FOODย PANTRYย DONATIONย
There has been an increased focus recently on our fellow citizens who areย in need of food assistance.ย That has prompted us to entertain what we hope will become an annual charitable contribution tradition ofย our December Membership Meeting.ย Participating in this new tradition will beย totally voluntary.ย If you do not wish to partake, simply feel uncomfortable doing so, or feel you fit the description of recipient moreso thanย donor in this scenario, then by all means it is your choice.ย But if you wishย to help out, please bring a couple of needy items (see suggested list below)ย or between a $2-$5ย cash donation to our upcoming December 6th meeting.ย We will have collection containers / boxes available toย you, along withย a “cash” box.ย Once collected, we will divide them accordingly–based on the volume received–to transport to places like Harvesters (where we know they accept cash donations) or a variety of areaย food pantries.
Canned Fruits, Canned Vegetables, Canned Beans, Canned Soup, Canned Meat, Peanut Butter, Whole Grain Pasta, Brown Rice, Oatmeal. Granola Bars, Low-Sugar Cereal, Shelf-Stable And Powdered Milk, Cooking Oil, Flour, Sugar, Salt, Spices, Coffee Or Tea, Juice, Crackers, Popcorn Kernels, Baby Food And Formula, Dried Herbs, Applesauce, Whole Grain Cereal, Black-Eyed Peas, Baked Goods, Canned Fish, Canned Protein
If you choose to be a participant, we THANK YOUย in advance for your help.ย ย And with food being the topic of discussion here, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones–and push yourself away from the table before it’s too late ๐ .ย ย And if you’re traveling for Thanksgiving…stay safe!!

MARKETINGย COMMITTEEย SETSย STAGEย FORย MAJORย MEMBERSHIPย GROWTH
The 2025-26 expanded KCMSSL Marketing Committee requests YOUR assistance to increase membership while also attracting younger members and teams to join the KCMSSL.ย We need every single KCMSSL member to assist us.ย It can be as easy as talking to your neighbor, colleague, or family member about the KCMSSL; passing out brochuresย or business cards; sharing your Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, or Nextdoorย posts to increase awareness on a broader scale; or getting involved more directly with one of our Marketing Committee members.ย We will have a supply of our 2026ย trifold brochure and generic business cards available to anyone wanting someย at our annual December 6th Membership Meeting.ย The generic business card allows you to provide the recipientย your own contact information, or if you wish, the contact info ofย someone in management.ย Your choice.
This is OUR league. Please help us in any way you can with a small or large contribution to make sure that OUR league and organization remains vital and continues to allow us all to enjoy playing softball in a fun, safe, socialย environment.ย Thank you for YOUR assistance.ย For more information on how YOU can help, please contactย Barry Gordon, barrygordo@aol.com, 913-827 7722.
FIRSTย RESPONDERS:
If you are one of our volunteerย First Responders,ย we wantย to recognize you.ย You do not have to be a police personย or firefighter; a certified EMTย or EMR; or even a doctor or nurse in order to be a First Responder.ย Just an everydayย good Samaritan who is comfortable enough with AED, etc., training to step forwardย in an attempt to save someone’s life.
So, as with our website’s Military Service Wall, if your criteria fitsย being a First Responder, pleaseย provide the followingย information to Susan Enyeartย – sde816@gmail.com, or mail it to Susanย —ย 17904 E 25th Terrace S, Independence, MO 64057-1342.ย Questions?…please give Susanย a call – 913.626.4946.

- Full Name
- What formalย or informalย training/knowledge, if any,ย you may have relative to being a First Responder.ย ย Again, have noย training?…no problem!!
We are also entertaining makingย First-Aid / CPR classesย available to anyone wishing to partake of one to be a certified First Responder.ย Our plan inย arrangingย these is to contact fire departments, Red Cross locations, or the like in a variety ofย area neighborhoods.ย We willย plan the class, but you will need to pay–estimated to beย $20-$50.ย If interested, please let Clint Berger know — clintberger@hotmail.com.
2026ย MEMBERSHIPย DUES
Everyone with an email address attached to their record in our membership database will be able toย payย their 2026ย membership dues “online” anytime afterย December 6.ย Simply click on this link:ย https://leaguesheets.com/league/6ย .ย Anyone wishing to pay their dues while at the upcoming annual Membership Meetingย may do so by getting in touch with Paul Heacockย – Treasurer (to pay via card), or Mark Kenney – Membership Secretary, beforeย or afterย the meeting.
Lifetime Membership Dues:ย ย Each member will still pay his / her membership dues in the year he / she turns age 75.ย Each year thereafter, the memberโs dues are waived…i.e.,ย free.ย ย However, the member will still needย to notify their manager, conference coordinator, Barry Gordon barrygordo@aol.com, 913-827 7722, Mark Kenneyย mkenneyedfirst@gmail.com,ย 816.529.8968, or Clint Berger clintberger@hotmail.com, 913.481.7937ย of their Lifetime status each year so their record can be updated accordingly. Otherwise, their manager will NOT be able to add him / her to their online team roster.
2026ย DRAFTย CONFERENCEย FEESย
As with previous years, draft conferenceย “league fees” areย NOTย yetย available for payment — either online orย via cash or check — simply because we have not yet been provided each draft conference venue’s cost from theย correspondingย Parks & Recreationย departments.ย Once those figures are received, we will update eachย draft venue’s online payment featureย and alert you of that fact via another email.
