YOURย 2026ย BOARDย OFย DIRECTORS,ย ANDย EXECUTIVEย COMMITTEE
The Board of Directors election results, effective as of the 2026ย season,ย wereย announced at our Annual Membership Meeting on December 6, 2025.ย Your 2026 Boardย can also be viewed on our website:ย ย https://kcseniorsoftball.org/?page_id=70
Your subsequent 2026ย Board of Directors “Executive Committee” membersย wereย elected atย our recent January 22ndย board meeting.ย They are:
President –ย Clint Berger;ย ย Vice-President –ย Barry Gordon; Membership Secretary – Bob Fama;ย Secretary –ย Ann Willkett; and Treasurer –ย Paul Heacock.
2026ย MEMBERSHIPย DUESย &ย DRAFTย CONFERENCEย FEES
If you have not yet paid your 2026ย membership duesย and wish to do so online, you may do soย now.ย Simplyย go to our website: https://kcseniorsoftball.org/, then click on the yellow “Online Player Registration” softball icon in the upper right, log in, and then scroll towards the bottom of your record to pay.ย ย Or you can just click on the following link:ย https://leaguesheets.com/league/6.
However, if you areย wishing to pay anyone of yourย “draft” conference league fee(s) online, we have to apologize.ย We are still pulling together all the appropriate data from our corresponding Parks & Recreations departmentsย in order to allowย you to make a single-visit to your record to pay both your dues and fees at the same time. ย Sorry for the delay, but we will make you aware as toย when we have obtained those figures and have enteredย them into League Sheets–so you can pay accordingly.
This also means we do not yet have the dollar amount figures, etc., updatedย onย the draft registration form on our website — for those of youย who prefer to print and complete that form.ย Again, once we have those figures, we will update that form.
Lifetime Membership Reminder:ย If you have already paid yourย season’s membership dues once,ย at age 75ย or older,ย you are considered a Lifetime member and need not pay dues going forward.ย However, in order for you to be added to any team’s roster, you need to be confirmed as an active 2026ย member.ย ย Therefore, we kindly request that youย access your KC Metro membership record and update it appropriately:ย ย https://leaguesheets.com/league/6ย …..OR,ย notify your manager, or Bob Famaย (816.679.4912), or Paul Heacock (913.707.7079), or Clint Berger (913.481.7937) to have one of themย mark your record appropriately.
INDEPENDENCEย – MONDAYย NIGHTย COMPETITIVEย CONFERENCE
We are looking for a fourth team to join us in a 60 / 65+ double-header conference on Monday nights at the Independence Athletic Complex – 17800 E Salisbury Rd, Independence, MO 64056 – https://maps.app.goo.gl/ox2CzyduAukrqvfy6ย . Games are always at 7 and 8 pm, and we typically start playing in mid-April and finish prior to September SSUSA’s World Championships in Las Vegas. If you are interested in having your team join us, please contact Gary Pumphrey at gdpump@yahoo.com or (816) 682-9963. There is also theย possibility that some of our current teams could use an individual player, or two, so if you have an interest in possibly finding a team to play on, let Gary know that too.
SATURDAYย MORNINGย 60+ย DRAFTย CONFERENCEย @ย ROEย PARK
There is room for adjustmentย and expansionย on Saturday mornings at Roe Park this coming season!!ย The 60 / 65 competitive conference–which had been a fixture at Roe Park over the past 10+ years–will NOT be returning for the 2026 season.ย This will allow more flexibility with field availability and game timesย for the Saturday morning 60+ Draft Conference.ย There were 68 members, comprising 5 teamsย participatingย in the Saturday morning draft conference in 2025.ย We see this conference expanding to 6 teams in 2026.ย ย Why?…because we are anticipatingย players from those non-returning competitive conference teamsย to consider participating in thisย Draft Conference.
Therefore, if you areย interested, you can joinย once we have the Saturday morning Draftย Conferenceย fee entered into League Sheets–so that you can pay accordingly.ย ย If you have any questions, please contact Gary Pyciorย —ย gpycio1@gmail.com –ย 816.206.3683.
SUNDAYย EVENINGย 35+ย MEN’Sย COMPETITIVEย CONFERENCEย @ย BLACKย BOBย PARK
In 2025ย we had 7 teams participateย in our 35+ men’s Sunday evening competitive conferenceย at Black Bob Park in Olathe.ย Gameย scheduling simply works better when there isย an even number of teams in any given conference.ย Therefore, if you areย aware of an additional team interested inย joining this conference, please have them contact John Dehan –ย jdehan@callthegame.com –ย 913.897.7500.ย ย Or if you want to, individually, join one of our Sunday evening teams, please contact John.
And just so youย know, even though this conference is labeled “35+”, 41% of the players in this conference were 50+ years of age in 2025.ย 89% of themย were over 40.ย ย So, don’t let the 35+ label scare you!!
ATTENTIONย 2026ย TEAMย MANAGERSย —ย SAVEย THEย DATE
Our 2026ย Managers’ Meeting will be held on March 14ย at 10:30 AMย at the Mid-Continent Library – Community Roomย — 12930 Booth Lane, Grandview, MO 64030-2682 –ย https://maps.app.goo.gl/j1ovmFCY8z5tHMgr6ย .ย ย The library does open (on Saturday) untilย 10:00, so feel free to get there in time to socialize a bit prior to the 10:30 start time.ย Due to this laterย start time,ย we will NOT be providing coffee orย donuts.
If you will beย theย manager ofย your team for the upcoming season, please save the date accordingly.ย There are a number of rule changes being made this season, both competitive and draft, that we feel you need to know.ย ย ย If you wish to bring your assistant managerย or othersย with youย to the meeting, please feel free to do so.ย ย At the same time, if you are the manager and are unable to attend, we encourageย you to send someone in your place.
We also suggest youย inquireย with your corresponding conference coordinator(s) to find out if he / sheย plansย to have aย “mini breakout session” immediatelyย after the Manager’s Meeting, to discuss specifics for your conference.
SAVEย THEย TOURNAMENTย DATE
Ourย Wes Weddle Classicย tournament ($450 entry fee, 4-game guarantee)ย is set as follows:

- The 65-80-year-old teams will then play at the Frank White Sports Complex on Thursday andย Friday, April 30 – May 1ย – 3901 SW Longview Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081 – https://maps.app.goo.gl/wSDLFjTKESqamksw8 .
- Those gamesย will be followed by the 60+ teams on Saturday andย Sunday, Mayย 2-3…again at Black Bobย Park.

Neither you nor your teammates have to be KCMSSL members to participate, but to be eligible to win your age group’s division, you do need to be a member of SSUSA (Senior Softball-USA).ย ย If any of your team’s members are NOT registered with SSUSA, you may still enter the tournament — as an exhibition team.
If interested, contact Clint Bergerย – clintberger@hotmail.com – 913.481.7937, or any of your 2026ย board members –ย https://kcseniorsoftball.org/?page_id=70 .
UMPIRES…..
We are always in need of good umpiresย with senior softball experience.ย Where better to recruit from than our ownย membership, who areย playing the game?ย ย Even better, over half of you are already accustomed to making the calls,ย so you have experience as an umpire. ๐
But seriously, we are always in need of umpires.ย Call the Game pays wellย for the one-hour scheduled 7-inning games, and the owner (John Dehan) will work around your playing schedule.ย ย You pick the days and locations you want to work.ย Think about it.ย ย If you work just oneย game, you pay for your membership dues.ย 10 games will get you thatย new bat you’ve been wanting.ย You could actually play for free all season!!ย ย The available options:
- Monday:
- Night gamesย at Independence Athletic Complex – competitive (Independence, MO)
- Mornings at Frank White Sports Complexย – Draft (Lee’s Summit, MO)
- Night gamesย at Hartman Park – competitive (Lee’s Summit, MO)

- Night games at Independence Athletic Complex – Draft (Independence, MO)
- Night games at Black Bob Park – competitive (Olathe, KS — available through Olathe Parks & Recreation)
