This Newsletter’s Table of Contents:<\/strong><\/p>\n Our Wes Weddle tournament is coming up (starting this weekend), and if receptive, we could use your help.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n We have 54 teams registered to participate this year…an\u00a0all-time high number<\/strong>.\u00a0 The 50’s & 55’s will be playing April\u00a025-26 at Black Bob Park – 14500 W 151st St, Olathe, KS 66062 – https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/jw4ZhBVRfRvndaZ36<\/strong><\/a> .\u00a0 \u00a0The 65’s thru 80’s are playing on Thursday & Friday, April 30-May 1 at Frank White Complex\u00a0– 3901 SW Longview Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081 – https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/Ryc8bxvb4Rbtksna9<\/strong><\/a> .\u00a0 \u00a0And then the following weekend–May 2-3–the 60’s will be at Black Bob Park, again, while the women will be playing (same days) at Happy Rock Park\u00a0–\u00a07565 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119\u00a0– https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/6y3tYj2ncBViQkF57<\/strong><\/a> .<\/p>\n How can you help?<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0We are always in need of assistance in the early morning hours on\u00a0the 1st day of each portion of the overall tournament–to help check-in the players.\u00a0 \u00a0Things slow down after that, whereby we just need to tend to the needs of the teams; this proposal simply adds leadership and board roles as additional qualifying service toward the same Ambassador recognition.<\/strong><\/p>\n The only thing constant\u00a0is change!…correct??\u00a0 Where are we going with this?\u00a0 Well, we were unable to keep\u00a0the Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation department personnel happy\u00a0enough in 2024 to retain the use of Hartman Park for our annual All-Star Games \/ Picnic \/ Skills Contests.\u00a0 The success of our event, seemingly, overwhelmed the capacity of Hartman Park’s parking lot…restricting\u00a0parking availability for\u00a0the citizens of Lee’s Summit.\u00a0 \u00a0Therefore, we were\u00a0asked to find a new location.\u00a0 So, we moved it to Black Bob Park in Olathe, KS in 2025.\u00a0\u00a0Repeat…”the only thing\u00a0constant is change”.\u00a0 That means Black Bob Park is unavailable to us in 2026 (due to scheduled young-men’s tournament play there on 9\/5 and 9\/12), so this season’s event will be moved to the September 12th date at Happy Rock Park –\u00a07565 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119 –\u00a0https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/t92wxnDUG6E8cYMq9<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The food service, i.e., whether we will preparing that\u00a0ourselves, or if we will engage in the services of Two Guys and a Grill again this year, has not yet been decided.<\/p>\n More details to come in future monthly newsletters.\u00a0\u00a0Nonetheless, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of your board members — https:\/\/kcseniorsoftball.org\/?page_id=70<\/strong><\/a> .<\/p>\n Have you ever considered being an umpire?\u00a0 \u00a0Sure, there are times you will take heat for a bang-bang call that one of the teams feels you got wrong, but the satisfaction\u00a0of knowing you got it\u00a0right is what counts.<\/p>\n The pay is good, and John (Dehan)\u00a0will work around your playing schedule so you can umpire and still play.\u00a0 Regularly\u00a0bringing home some\u00a0extra pay can’t be all bad!!\u00a0 \u00a0Heck, you may even be able to budget\u00a0the cost of that new bat or glove you’ve been craving.<\/p>\n If interested, or if you have any questions, please contact John A.
