{"id":10957,"date":"2025-10-23T19:08:50","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T19:08:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kcseniorsoftball.org\/?p=10957"},"modified":"2025-11-23T19:09:27","modified_gmt":"2025-11-23T19:09:27","slug":"october-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kcseniorsoftball.org\/?p=10957","title":{"rendered":"October 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>This Newsletter&#8217;s Table of Contents:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Military Veterans\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\/\u00a0Service Wall<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Calling All Members<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Board of Directors Election<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Annual Membership Meeting<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Membership Survey<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Choice Hotels Privileges\u00ae Rewards Program<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>First Responders<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pull Tabs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>ATTENTION\u00a0 ALL\u00a0 MILITARY\u00a0 VETERANS!!!!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Veterans Day is &#8220;right around the corner&#8221; (November 11th).\u00a0 However, instead\u00a0of just recognizing our veterans one day each year, we would like to permanently acknowledge every\u00a0KCMSSL military service member&#8211;active or retired, living or deceased&#8211;by displaying their picture along with a listing of their branch of service\u00a0on our website <a href=\"https:\/\/kcseniorsoftball.org\/?page_id=7781\">https:\/\/kcseniorsoftball.org\/?page_id=7781<\/a> .\u00a0 If you\u00a0or someone you know\u00a0fits the\u00a0criteria, please\u00a0provide the requested information below so you, or the person you know,\u00a0can be appropriately\u00a0recognized.\u00a0 \u00a0 We have\u00a0already acknowledged\u00a0<strong><em>129<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>of our current\u00a0or deceased\u00a0military members.\u00a0 \u00a0Please help us complete the\u00a0list.<\/p>\n<p>Provide the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Photo\u00a0of the subject military service person <\/strong>(we would prefer a recent\u00a0picture&#8230;we simply want those viewing the individual&#8217;s information to be able to &#8220;put a familiar face with a\u00a0name&#8221;):<\/li>\n<li><strong>Full Name:<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Branch of Service:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please send this\u00a0information to\u00a0John Mondi\u00a0&#8211; <a href=\"mailto:jmondi@kc.rr.com\"><strong>jmondi@kc.rr.com<\/strong><\/a>, or mail it to John &#8212;\u00a010517 W 102nd Ter., Overland Park, KS\u00a0 \u00a066214.\u00a0 Questions?&#8230;..please give John\u00a0a call &#8211; 913.284.6005.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>CALLING\u00a0 ALL\u00a0 MEMBERS\u2026\u2026..<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The KCMSSL Marketing Committee needs your assistance.\u00a0 To grow our membership, which includes\u00a0attracting younger members, we wish\u00a0to embark on a bold strategy&#8230;targeting 7 major\u00a0areas: Community Centers,\u00a0Gyms,\u00a0Media Outlets,\u00a0Sporting Events,\u00a0Practice Facilities,\u00a0and Sports Bars&#8230;oh, and even Senior Living Centers&#8211;for those &#8220;<strong>not-so-young<\/strong>&#8221; prospective\u00a0members\u00a0\ud83d\ude42 .<\/p>\n<p>Neighborhood stores, restaurants, etc., are also targets on our radar screen&#8211;especially if it&#8217;s your own business (which allows for customer contact\/interaction).\u00a0 Or maybe you know of yet-another\u00a0location\/business that fits this description.<\/p>\n<p>We are asking any members who may have a contact or an \u201cin\u201d at any of these\u00a0target areas to please come forward and assist the committee in getting our information in front of their members\/customers.\u00a0 Something as simple as just placing our brochures in, or around, their bulletin board can\u00a0help.\u00a0 We need everyone\u2019s assistance so that\u00a0our organization can\u00a0continue to grow.<\/p>\n<p>We also realize that\u00a0the best way for growth to occur is through YOUR \u201cWORD OF MOUTH\u201d .\u00a0 So, please assist us and assist the league by talking about and promoting the KCMSSL at any and every opportunity.\u00a0 If you have a contact for us to reach out to, please let us know.\u00a0 If you\u2019d like to help us, please contact Barry Gordon: <a href=\"mailto:barrygordo@aol.com\">barrygordo@aol.com<\/a>; 913.827.7722.
